Beautiful Vintage Samsonite Shwayder Faux Alligator Suitcase
The company began in 1910 and the "Samsonite" name began to be used in 1941. In 1965 the company changed its name to Samsonite, so the case probably dates to the 1941-1965 period.
The suitcase is approx. 21 1/4" x 13 1/4" x 8" on the outside. Overall, it is in good condition. I see no damage to the outside, although there are a few minor scuffs, etc. and there is a small amount of paint missing from the painted metal. The tan cloth interior has no tears or holes. There is one small dark stain, none of which I have tried to clean. The metal hardware (presumably brass or brass-plated) has some tarnish and wear to the finish, but the latches open and close well. There is no key. Overall very good condition for age. Please see pictures....
